Riley was my first whippet, and he has sure gotten me hooked on the breed. My favorite thing about him is his temperament. I have not known many dogs as calm, gentle, and tolerant as Riley. He is such a joy to live with, and his sweet demeanor has got me wrapped around his paw.
However, take him out to a lure trial and he is a fierce competitor demonstrating his great athletic abilities and speed. He finished his AKC lure coursing championship with three majors and several best of breed wins. He is an AKC best in field winner and is on the way to his conformation title and his ASFA field championship. He has an oval track racing title and will be running in straight line sprint races when his daughter, Star, is old enough to race too.
